My plan is to take my time and train my dogs, I think I am lucky to have two wonderful dogs that knows the basics, and we can perfect that with out no rush.
Is their a time frame in age of the dogs to finish tittle them? I have this bond more so with my Chico the knukelhead, than with my Carla. She is sweet but mischievous, does most of the damage to my things I haven't put up, like the potting soil, and the pine shaving, the hose I wander how many I will have to buy this year?
I have been really bless, to have these chronic ailments, and still enjoy my dogs, don't get me wrong, it has not been peaches and cream, but it was the one thing I had to look forward to these last six years.
So any tips on my mode of timing, of training, what say you? Dan

Lisa, we do the sport of protection. It is call Schutzhund. it consist of three activities, Obedience, Tracking, and Protection, and their is also three tittle levels
For me it is necessary to at least title your dog before you even think about breading, the Hips ex-rays also necessary before you even consider breading

You're own personal time frame is the only one needed, Dan.
There is a GSD in my club who is 7, and was going to go for his SchH2 this fall.
GOOD FOR YOU, for believing titling your dogs, and Hips/Elbow X-rays are mandatory before breeding. SO important, and so often overlooked.

I'm not sure what your question actually is...
Unless you're planning on breeding and want to title them while the dogs are still at the appropriate age to be bred is there really a time limit on training? My dog will never be done training. You also may want to consider an outdoor pen for safety when you can't supervise the female if she's eating your yard...
also you are not dipping your dogs in batter and breadcrumbs and cooking them... it's BREEDING...sorry, pet peeve -_-

Big ditto. I would only add that our personal time frames sometimes change, get adjusted, moved back, etc. We have to be flexible. Stuff happens. If there were time frames in training and titling our personal dogs, I know I would definitely be in big trouble, along with many, many other people I know.

I couldn't agree more.
Dan, forgive me, this is not an exact quote, but the gist I got is your dogs bring you a lot of pleasure in life and make things more bearable for you. That is what really matters.

Cheri, breeding from now on, always willing to learn and you are right, I love my dogs,Glad to know old dogs can still do new tricks, thanks Kelly and those are the standard I was thought. Breeding for me would be, if ever to bring out the best of both of my dogs as they get kind of old, and I can pick hopefully, the pick of the litter, I always have to remember the wife voice in this. Yes I have gotten away with my shenanigans so far, my luck might not hold up. Dan

Kelly Byrd: What a big hardy laugh you threw back at me. I did not hit the floor, but you sure reminded me of were my bread is butter. Thanks for the good moment. Dan
