Lynne,
The blood is bright red, like in fresh blood.
I clean up every morning and then i saw the stools... if i wait till later the blood in the stools will probably be blackened.
Hi Lynne.
Thank you very much.
I rad up on your link and i looked at anal sacks also, but i dont think its the anal sacks... i would rather go for the tear.
The vet also said there is now worms or parasites... but she only give me the protexin to give after a huge bill and its still not cleard.
I removed all sticks and leaves and sharp objects and will se hoe it goes in a day or three... hopefully everything will turn out ok...
Thanks guys and girls for all your info... i will keep you up to date...
Kind regards
Cecille
Lots of types of worms won't show up in a stool sample. Whipworms are often hard to detect, for example, and I've seen them cause mucousy stool and bleeding intermittently.
You can simply order a de-wormer that covers whipworms through Dr. Foster and Smith or another reputable online pet med provider- Dr. Betty can advise but I think Panacur is one and it's given in three doses seperated by three weeks and then three months if I remember correctly.
A dewormer is a simple and practically harmless thing to try before doing more tests. Since pretty much all puppys are born with worms (and are usually de-wormed by the breeder), and your dogs are fairly young, this would be the simplest, and most likely solution.
I would second Kiersten Lippman's recommendation especially if these pups have not been dewormed with a quality product on a regular schedule.
Yes, absolutely, especially since it's been over 10 days and you are still finding signs of blood. The medication that you mention in your first post appears to be a probiotic, so it would do nothing if the pups have worms. (I didn't mean to imply by posting that link that worming would not be my first approach)
Thanks for all your advice, help and answers... i really appreciate your help.
Today Sunday and i could not find any stool with blood in....
Maybe it was something they chewed on or some plants... i dug out all the plants where they are staying.. and took away anything that could be harmful for them...
So... let us hold thumbs that i will see no more bloody stools...
Thanks again...
Cecille and puppies....
