My kids learned a few new words last night . There is nothing like hearing a 3 year old mutter "f*&#ing dog" under his breath as he plays with his herding breeds dog collection
LOL I remember when my son first went to Kindergarten, I had to teach him that to the most of the world "bitch" is a very objectionable word. He was so used to the people around him using it casually for the girl dogs, he just didn't think anything of it.
I also remember being in the office one day talking to a co-worker and another co-worker walked in just in time to hear me say "you need to get yourself a nice little black bitch". We were talking about Dobermanns LOL At least everyone there knew about my dog hobby, and the explanation was accepted
Yes, we have many similar problems with farm terminology at our house. Semen, teets, and sexed seem to be words that are not in everyone's daily conversation But they are in our house. It can be quite interesting at times to explain that we have a dairy farm- completely normal
I, quite often, hear my parrot mouth off at the dogs - sort of embarassing to hear 'yourself' in a temper snit. lol
I do remember my daughter's 1st grade teacher pulling me aside to ask my to teach my daughter another way of decribing what we did over the past weekend as 'Mom showed her bitch and won a ribbon...' was not exactly acceptable. lol She was very understanding, thank heaven!
As far as what I would do in a family dog bite situation? Easy, when my Aussie bit.., uh, girl, growled at me on the grooming table, I decked her - pure reflex, I assure you. She NEVER even grumbled at any family member again. BTW, I am NOT in the habit of ever raising a hand to a dog, I am not really all that sure where that came from. I don't regret it, tho.
