I train on my own and find it difficult to find any indoor places to practice. The floor at PetSmart is too slippery for my dog- her feet slide out from under her in a sit!
It's hard to simulate an indoor show venue without joining a class. Any other suggestions for that type of thing?
The best bet is to observe a whole class and see if you like how things are run.
That's what I did years ago. Found a place I really liked and have been taking classes there on and off for about 7 years. They know me, know my methods, and pretty much leave me alone as far as "teaching" me. They know I am there to work my dogs under distraction or with the agility equipment. It works great for us.
