Why do dogs and kids ALWAYS wait until the weekends to have emergencies??!!
Sometime Saturday night, the dogs must have been playing and it got a little rough. I didn't hear a thing. Sunday morning one of my Tzu's had a prolapsed eye. What fun.
So I got to go to the emergency vets and $800 later, he is back home with 1-eye, staples, and a collar to TRY & keep him from scratching it.
So I put him in the utility room (gated off) overnight. I left the cat door open, because, even though he goes out it, he couldn't with the collar on. Right?? Wrong!
This morning I get up to a soaking wet,(it actually RAINED last night), collar hanging 1/2 off, happy as a lark, dog.
Poor little guy. That's one thing I worry about with Bug playing with the big dogs. They play with him well, but they are a LOT bigger than he is and he has a tendency to those bug-eyes that get knocked out all too easily. Hope your guy heals up well and quickly.
I've had at least 1 Tzu since '74. This is the FIRST one I've ever had this happen to. I was quite surprised to have the vet tell me it's quite common really.
