My name is Alison and I live in Virgina. I've been a Leerburg fan for a nine years now and have really appreciated all of the wisdom Ed and all of the forum members so generously share. I got my first GSD while in college, a rescue named Bailey that I found at ten weeks old and would have sworn was part donkey. Turned out that he was from a BYB in town(Savannah)...mom was a white shepherd and dad was a "German-imported" black and silver. He was dumped for having floppy ears. Their loss! Bailey was a handful, but I was lucky enough to spend eight amazing years with him. Unfortunately, I lost him about four weeks ago, very suddenly, to hemangiosarcoma. Heartbreaking. My mom attempted to rouse me from my semi-catatonic state and found a breeder looking to re-home a nine-month old girl. West German showlines (I know...), but she was just what my family (mostly me) needed. I have been wanting to pursue Schutzhund for years and eventually rescue/purchase a working line GSD. But my new girl Asia and I are looking forward to learning and training together. She's doing great with marker training!
Bailey..miss you.
Asia likes water.
