Before viewing this video, you got to know that there are no schutzhund clubs in my country, no bite sleeves available, no agitators or clatter sticks, no tug toys (the ones you see were imported from Leerburg).
It is in no way an attempt at training anything, but just me trying to see if my girl will go out and bite an immobile tug.
Yes, I have been watching all your videos and have been jealous. Jealous of your Dutch Shepherds (kelly you reading this?) , jealous of your fancy bite suits and training clubs, Jealous of your tug toys and bite sleeves, Jealous of your green manicured training fields and expert trainers.
Yes I have been watching all your videos and I wanted to play out my own fantasy. Just like a kid who wants to play cowboy on a dead log after watching a Clint Eastwood movie.
My girl Helga is 1yr and 4 months old and she LOVES TO BITE. The other day I had clicker trained her to bite and pull on a "dead tug". I wanted to have some fun and I recruited a banana farmer from my village to act as the "decoy" (remember the clint eastwood analogy). I lied to him saying that all he had to do was hold the tug above his waist away from his body. He agreed because he knows Helga very well and he knows that she is nothing but a friendly dog. Still I think he was not too happy with what happened, he mentioned later that he may have dislocated a shoulder and I may have to pay for it.
I wanted to see if my Girl will go out and bite and fight for a tug from some one else other than me.
Here is a video of what happened.
As always your comments are welcome. Even though I growl and fight with her for the tug, she is sweet as honey. She is the softest and most goofy and loving dog you will ever see.
She's so cute Ram!!! (not as cute as Bommi... but still adorable.)
I had no idea she was that young.
My DS may be fun- but he sure does not out that fast, OR stay that focused on me heeling while around a decoy/person with a tug!
I know for a fact, that personally, I could not have got to the point I'm at without the training support I've had. Ram, you are SO very good with your dogs. Especially considering you're doing it all by yourself! I can't learn off the video's alone. You're doing fantastic!
