I'm mostly curious because I've stumbled across a local trainer who promotes it. Though in glancing over their title requirements I realized that Daisy could easily get their "novice" title right now and with a small amount of effort, their "intermediate" title as well. It just seems a little too uhh...easy. On the other hand it makes me appreciate just how far this dog of mine and I have come over these last 18 months and I don't seem to be working her to death, lol.
I'm not really looking for a sport at the moment, but mostly wondering if the "prestige" is worth more than the paper it's printed on.
LOL! I have the TV show Dog Shows: Moms and Dads (think Best in Show reality TV) on DVD and Chalcy and her owner were one of the dog people the show followed around. She was bonkers in my book :-)
FWIW, the "title" seems just like a money making scam for her. Train the tricks, enjoy your dog, and the reward from doing both of those things is worth more than that piece of paper ;-)
Yeah, after I got over my "Wow, I'm a better trainer than I thought" moment, I just started thinking, "You know, if I just put a video up on youtube, it wouldn't be nearly as snazzy as some letters after my dog's name, but it would be ten times more official." And I think I'd rather keep the 40$ in my pocket too.
ETA: I think the real truth is Daisy has been making me look really good lately and I'm rather high on the feeling at the moment.
