Just found this web site and am amazed at the good info. I read the article about down in motion that Ed wrote. While it makes perfect sense to me about the reward of the toy to keep the dog in drive when he downs, I am confused about something.(maybe I should get his video about training drive focus & grip) If I give a down command while in motion and continue to walk a few steps and toss the toy, do I give a verbal release to the dog to break the down? If I don't, it seems that I am creating another problem by allowing him to break a down command to get his toy? Maybe someone can shed some light on this.
