I want my pet sitter to stay at my house overnite. I have a hired man who can let the dogs out in the middle of the day, but he's only here a short time, then he's gone.
I would not hire someone who is just going to come over a few minutes several times a day. Under those circumstances, I'd rather leave the dog in a kennel.

Maybe (since overnight is off the table) it's not so much pet "sitting" as maybe pet walking, feeding, tending ....
I don't know what term to use .... but I can certainly imagine a need for that kind of service for people who are just gone to work all day or even who have someone to stay overnight while they are gone, but the overnighter works .....
I think I was just thinking of pet-sitting as including overnight.
I too would never leave my animals alone in the house overnights while I was away. But I have had to use a dog-walker for two pit-stops a day while the overnight sitter was at work (when I was on the other coast).
Mike, I have a list of dog people who I have interacted with who want to hand out my cards. Trainer, owner of the dog store, vet, rescue org, etc. I meant that it is hard to find the sitters who take the job seriously. If you are afraid of big dogs, afraid of big horses, can't clean a kennel if another dog next door barks at you, don't think feeding birds is important, do a good job only when you think the owners are coming home, you don't take it seriously.
Since my cards won't say sitter, but actually "care" then maybe I will not imply the wrong impression.
I am looking into a website. I have never had a website for aything before, so that is a new arena.
