I read your letter that made some pretty bold statements about American pups not being able to be K-9's etc. At first I thought that was a statement without merit. I am here to eat crow. I have been to several breeders who work with German bred dogs only. They are in different areas of Colorado and I have learned that there is a tremendous difference between the Am and Gm bred German Shepherds. I am now enraged at the AKC and the GSDCA. We have sick dogs that have little or no self confidence. Why we have not adopted the same grading and certifying system here in the US is truly amazing. IF we honestly love the breed then we need to start looking at how to get the breed back to where it was years ago. I can now understand your statements. While no breeding program is perfect, the general program of American breeder is hindering the future of the Greatest Dog on earth. Lets leave our egos at the door and work on getting the over angulation straightened out and the haunched back smoothed out for an appropriate top line.
