Per Connie, I shall start a new topic...lol sorry.
anyway I wanted to know if I can give salmon oil and vit e to an 8 week old rottweiler puppy and the answer was yes and I was told to provide the puppies weight.
as of right now he is only 3 weeks old and the weight is unknown. the breeder does not have the pups on any supplement outside of mothers milk...

Well, you could post back just as you take him home with the weight.
I could also tell you now that I use a gram per ten pounds of dog ( plus a Vitamin E gelcap at 100 IU for a baby puppy, going up as the puppy hits 20 pounds or so, etc.). But if you post back with weight, I will also give you the translation into teaspoons for liquid fish oil and you can save a bunch of money (and probably get better quality) by buying and taking good care of liquid fish oil instead of gelcaps. (The E is gelcaps only.)
You will want natural E (d-alpha, not dl-alpha, and preferably with mixed tocopherols). So for now you could be looking up some 100 IU caplets of good E and finding your fish oil.
If you cannot find 100 IU caplets of E, you could get 200 IU and squeeze out half and toss the rest. The cost at that range is as much in the capsule as in the contents.
I just visited them yesterday. they are 4 1/2 weeks and about 6 lbs... she had 2 males. the breeders have decided to keep one, and the other one is pretty much mine unless I decide to get a female.
the male they are holding for me is very active and playful, and the one they are keeping is very lax...easy going...
