Does anyone have any information on the Zoologist Dr. Graves? We have a puppy from a breeder in DePere, WI who has GSD's from the Dr. Graves "line". I tried to do a search on here but came back with 64,000 hits.

What was your search word? The name rings a bell ..... isn't this someone who stopped breeding years ago?
From all things Google ... the hits I got referenced an AKC breeder of American Show Shepherds. The kennel name was Trommel

Willow comes from Trommel Bloodlines. Dr. Lynn Graves was the originator of this Kennel right here in Wisconsin. He was a genetics proffesor at UW Madison. He took the very old American Bred lines and crossed them with the East and West German Siegers. Some of them were, US Crand Vicotr Ch Telleheide's Gallo, Grand Victor Ch. Yoncalle's Mike. Then mixed in East German Seiger, Bodo v. Granfental SchttIII. Ch Sam Vom Schaafgerden SchttIII. Then he added Seiger and US Ch Neumann's Jim. At one time this kennel was thought to produce some of the better working shepherds out there. Right now Trommel lines are dwindeling, but there is still a kennel in Canada, Dutch Hill, who is keeping the lines going, along with the kennel I got Willow from. Her pedigree is not that impressive unless you know the history of where the lines started
