I have seem some nice american bred dogs but, they are hard to come by. Exactly. Yes, there are ambreds w/Sch titles, heck there are Labs and BCs w/Sch titles, for that matter. Does that make Labs and/or BC's Sch dogs? No. More importantly, if you breed an ambred that has a title, the odds against getting good working pups are astronomically against you.
Enough good training, club trial on the home field, the planets and starts lined up right, yes an ambred could get a title but the dog isn't going to reliably produce working dogs b/c it's not in the genes.
Joy If I pointed out every miss-spelled word on this forum it would take a week from monday.
But you did make a good point there are some Labs and BC that have SchH I title but not a SchH III.
Maybe. If so one out of a 10K are still not good odds. Another good point made.
Germany Sheperd Dog now are you happy. Miss Perfect. I enjoyed reading your articles and book. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

"It is not the breed of the dog that is important, it is character. Many dogs of breeds not traditionally used for police-style work have been successful in Schutzhund. Above, Dr. Gerry Pasek schools 'Shadow' in the early stages of protection training. 'Shadow' went on to become one of only a handful of Schutzhund III Labrador Retrievers in the world"
The above is from "Schutzhund: Theory and Training Methods" by Susan Barwig and Stewart Hilliard, page 15.
"(Janet Birk's 'Jason' SchH3 FH IPO3 UDT WDX. We believe that Jason is the most titled Chesapeake Bay Retriever in the history of the breed.)"
Same book, page 209.
I am also on a list with a woman that has 2 SchH3 Australian Shepherds, one of which is also IPO3 & FH titled. Don't make statements like the above unless you KNOW for sure!
Yah - they shot the dog - he had jute allergies but they caught him chasing sheep. I don't know what the point of this thread is. Nothing from Manhatten is worth feeding, nothing from Manhatten ever got a title and if it did it was an illegal title - there are enough crocked judges in Germany to title a pig if you had enough money. Tell the guy that - because if something from this bloodline got a title it was not a legal title. This thread is closed. The image of Manhatten makes me gag.
