Thank you again for your thoughts. The tee shirt is to keep him from chewing his sore areas.
I only found a couple fleas on Raven when he first showed signs of irritation. Yes, he was properly bathed, my friend owned a nice grooming place, have done this for years on other dogs, same routine that i read about here so all good on that. All three dogs got the white sheet treatment, i learned about that twelve years ago when i got Rave as a pup, from his breeder. That is how i found the two fleas initially, both were dead, also found flea poop. The other two dogs had dry skin flakes but every dark spot got the alcohol test, no red, just dirt. Oh, Raven is blue merle, his name has a different genesis! LOL I vac daily, because of space issues it is left outside the house under a covered porch and emptied before i use it again. Furniture is cleaned as well. I live in a cabin so i know for a fact that i am not cleaning as well as it needs, too many old nooks and crannies. Bedding is washed regularly.
I am going to try Flea Busters per Ericka's suggestion. I had something else a few years ago, natural, peppermint smell but i cannot remember the name and cannot find it at the store i got it from.
My main concern currently is /relieving stopping the irritation he has. Vet said his injetion should have helped in a couple days, said she can give him a stronger topical cortisone based cream.
I checked more closely on Comfortis, the reasion the vets in my area will not sell it is that it does not kill larvae or eggs. I would still like to try it. As i mentioned, my three dogs have been on Advantage--vet and Advantage site says that if on it regularly, flea infestations in house should be limited. I read http://foxnestvet.homestead.com/ProductFleas.html More to think about and consider.
So, currently, i am looking to find some relief for him. Soon i will have to look for a derm. vet if his skin remains inflamed.
Thanks everyone

I agree about the derm vet. And I too would be considering Comfortis with a dog like this. (I think it's hard for owners whose dogs aren't flea hypersensitive to understand how seriously it affects the dog's quality of life.) The dog has no seizure disorder history?
PS
I'd be looking at upping the fish oil with all the dogs ... the flaky skin ones as well as the inflamed-skin one.

Hope Ken will update us on Raven. Before moving to the desert I struggled with fleas and torn up dog skin for years. Advantage worked for me, it's the pits the fleas are evolving to tolerate it. Distressing problem.
