I switched the treat kibble I have been using for Jethro and Skipper's training.
Normally I have a selection of Acana that I pull from, for everyday reinforcement. I was using Origin, but it seemed to give them loose poops. They have been using the Acana in combination with a raw diet for months now and their poops have been solid and well formed.
Last week I had to make a quick move from my house in the city to an island. Our house is being renovated and right now it is up on cribs. We can't go home until it is back down on its foundations. I ran out of the Acana kibble, and decided to try something different, by mistake I bought a bag of Now kibble for miniature dogs. It is 17% fat, grain free.
Today the cabin is filled with dog farts and both dog's poops are slimy, stinky, sloppy messes. There is one other variable, we are on the seashore, and they had a beach walk yesterday. Both dogs were eating things like barnacles and seaweed, at least what I saw. Another variable is this island is covered in deer poop, and Jethro has been helping himself, until I realized I had to put a stop to that.
I do have their regular raw food here, so that is continuing.
Now I am wondering what to do. I cannot run to a store, I don't have a car. What I have is what I have. I am wondering if I should fast them, cut the kibble, the deer poop and the seashore, and then feed them their regular food tomorrow. I do have yogurt, I don't have pumpkin.
