Paladin
A paladin is defined as a "Champion" or "defender of a cause".and this is just what Paladin is - a champ. You see, he survived insurmountable odds in order to be where he is today. Paladin's story is not an easy one to tell. He arrived at Best Friends in 2010, but once lived with a family in Ohio. With the help of a friend, his previous person locked Paladin in a cage and the two men took turns shooting at him. The gunshots alerted neighbors who called 911. By the time police arrived to stop the men, Paladin had suffered six gunshot wounds, most in the head and neck. It was a miracle he survived. Within a half hour of the shootings authorities rushed Paladin to an emergency vet. Paladin miraculously pulled through the surgeries. His physical dangers stabilized in time. The larger remaining obstacle, however, is for Paladin to find a way to move beyond such a horrible ordeal and to learn to trust again - that won't come easy. But lucky for him, at Best Friends he is able to take all the time he needs. So far, we know he does like to play and go for walks with people he likes. The staff is taking it very slow, spending time with him every day and working on a trusting relationship with him. Paladin is a real champion for making it this far. Be a champion for him, and sponsor Paladin today!
I typed his name in search and got the story sounds like he's coming along OK, he's a beautiful dog.
Does anyone know if they got the sick F#*@s that did this? What ever punishment they receive its not harsh enough, hope they get shot for what they did but that would be to kind.
I don't have room for any more dogs, so I shouldn't have looked. That dog looks just like my Tessa. I mean, spitting image. And the same patient look. Wow.
I wonder... my girl also came from the midwest (adopted as stray) but I never did know her story.
Beautiful dog. My heart is really drawn to this one. Tessa took about six months before she stopped cowering whenever I startled her (I tried to avoid this at all costs, but it took nothing more than a quick movement or a louder tone of voice). I hope Palidin can recover too. What a nice looking dog.
