Bindi has tear stains on one of her eyes. I was wondering if any of you have tried any natural home remedies that removed them. I have tried angel eyes, but am not comfortable with the antibiotic in it. I also have read up on eye envy, but wanted to see if there is any natural methods that have worked before I purchase anything.
So, help please.

Bindi is a blond dog who does have weeping eyes. She always has. In the past I used Angel Eyes and it took care of it. However, I found out there is an antibiotic in it. I would like something natural.
The color is a brownish stain. She has it around her mouth as well.

I had a senior Bichon rescue once. (What a cool little dog she was! She was my first small dog.)
I preferred a combo of white cider vinegar (prevention) in the drinking water (which probably has to be added gradually, up to about a teaspoon to a stainless steel bowl that contains a couple of cups), and Show Eyes (gradual removal).
Click on "overview," "more info," "FAQs," and "Articles" for a good overview.
The vinegar changes the pH of the tear and saliva a bit. This can also be done with calcium, such as Tums, but I really dislike fooling with dietary calcium for a cosmetic reason.
Like you, I think the Angel Eye option is a very last resort, as you say, unless the vet actually found bacteria needing the antibiotic it contains.
thanks Connie. HAs anyone used TearLax for their dogs eye stains? It does not have the antibiotics in it, and is supposed to be all natural.
Thanks sharon
I was reading that water with a high mineral content can cause the tear stains to worsen. I was wondering if using distilled water for the dogs would help with bindi's tear stains, but I am not sure if that is a good idea since there will not be any minerals in it.
Does anyone have any info on distilled water and dogs? thanks sharon
