Ok, so, I have been working my toy poodle in tracking. I know, I know, but it's cute and fun, she enjoys it and she's good at it.
Weird question: I keep her clipped in a ulitarian style but have noticed that she shivers when tracking in the morning. (so do I, but that's my problem lol). Am I going to have to let her grow some hair or would she be allowed to compete while wearing her sweater? She's all of 7.6 pounds and is probably not going to get much bigger, she may someday get to 8 pounds, but it's not looking promising. She's not delicate or anything, just small and single coated.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
No apologies needed for poodles! Tracking is a sport open to all breeds...though I have to admit, I don't think I ever saw my mother's afghan hound with her nose on the ground! It's a great sport. Under CKC rules the dog may wear a coat. It must be shown to the judge and put on the dog before it competes so that it can be checked; the judge must be satisfied that there are no tacks or other things in it that may change the outcome of the test. I am fairly sure that this rule would exist under AKC rules. Happy Tracking!
