i have bought cd's from the above for my horses the mounted police cd is excellent. also the parade one. they have anything from gunfire to cannon's to fireworks plenty of other sounds on a loop
I know gun dog breeders that have used the cd's with their pups, gun dog supply have cd's. I think this is very true...

One thing about using a recording is that unless you have a really good sound ($$$) system, it won't accurately reproduce the sharpness of the sound a real starter pistol makes.
We have a gun club right behind us and a stadium, fireworks in our backyard all year. The dogs have been well conditioned to the noise. It can sometimes be a problem when I take in a foster, but it gives us something else to work on.
With all my pups as well as the litter I had I start out by using those poppers that they sell around the 4th of July. It might be something to start with. I do not know any audio recordings of guns but I would see if there is a firing range nearby where you could heel in the parking lot etc.
the cowboy mounted shooting cd would probably work best below list the sounds

Thanks for all the replies. I am working on desensitizing my dog. He has never had a problem with gunfire til last year when some neighbors shot of the whistling bottlerockets. He now is skittish around the gun. AAARRRGGGHHH!!!
Yeah, Will. I do not think the bank would appreciate the gun with me in line
The gundogsupply website has some really nice CD's for gun training.
It is funny, he tolerates the pots and pans, boards banging, but the cap gun, sets him off.
I am asking a friend who is a deputy if I can come out when (he)they shoot next time.
I will let you guys know if this was worth the money.
