How many minutes is the long down? what movement is normaly permitted? I can't remember where I read it but I think its 10 minutes or so. Max will stay that amount but usually starts looking around, licks what ever, starts staring at the kids etc. The other day he decided to do the "Dead Dog" trick while we were practicing. (dead dog trick = 4 paws in the air, tongue hanging out).
There are benefits to going opposite a Malinois instead of a Rottenwhiner..
Without consulting the bible, aka the rulebook, I believe your dog can move a maximum of 1 meter.
It is best if you can keep the fidgeting to a minimum. When you are at a trial and nervous your dog will find all kinds of new tricks to play, usually while there are lots of cameras around. If he is clear on the platz means platz before then, it helps.
Seems the.....er......"dead dog" trick has already been acomplished by a certain Dante dog. Don't seem to recall it being called that though.
