Kelly,
This is a no-brainer. Yellow makes her look fat.
Were the original balls provided during the training or did you bring your own. Thor is an odd-ball (pun intended) when it comes to toys; until I touch them, he has no interest. I throw new toys into the clothes hamper for a day before I give them to him.
And back to your first thought, maybe she can't see the yellow ones???
I have seen this a number of times in flyball! I know one dog who refuses pink balls but is ok with any other color...this wasn't realized until he ran a tournament with a team that used all pink balls LOL
Right now I have one girl I am training who I have noticed much prefers yellow balls in the box - she won't refuse other colors but her pickup is much cleaner if the ball is yellow. She is more like to bobble it if it is a dark color especially. So, I will make sure she gets yellow balls in the box!
Thanks, everyone!! At least Toni isn't alone in her weirdness All the stories you've shared are so cool. Isn't it amazing how well they train us?
We have a list on the top of the box showing the box loader the side that each dog picks up on, and now we've added that Toni needs an orange/blue ball. Hopefully that will be the end of her "demands"
The things we do to keep them happy
