"So when i watched that video and he said foam was a sign of bloat its made me wonder. Has anyone else had a dog vomit and it contained foam? Should I be concerned? ...... edit: ok so I read now the "unsuccessful" vomiting is a sign...but geez...the foam thing threw me off! "
Good, I was just going to mention the "unproductive retching" thing.
It doesn't mean that small yellow bile vomiting that some of us see from a dog with a very empty stomach, perhaps early in the a.m. (virtually always unaccompanied by other symptoms of any kind) , and it doesn't mean actual vomitus that may contain some foamy material. It means either nothing coming up (just retching) or nothing but a slimy saliva substance.
Thanks everyone for your comments. Took me a while to find this part of the forum as I never have time but to glance at the general up top.
I would have to gather than that one meal a day is not the cause of bloat. But it might be better feeding twice a day...
For Zuki she won't eat but once a day and she doesn't eat much.
Melissa, can you give a little more info about the simethicone? Is it a pill? Under what circumstances would you administer it? Where can you buy it? My dog is large, lean and deep-chested: I am so glad to have watched the video and read the article in this thread -- one day, Lenney's life might depend on it. Thanks!
