I have put this article on my favourites bar to read properly tonight, as I am supposed to be getting ready for work, but can't drum up any enthusiasm to put down the coffee and get out in the cold lol!
The photos are amazing, thats a lot of Pits !! I have only really seen that many dogs in one place on CM vids!
Looks interesting, looking forward to reading it, thanks for the link Ben
Imho, alot of what they talk about and practice really hits the nail on the head.
I agree.
I'm always impressed/sceptical when I see piles of dogs laying around on furniture together though. It's not that I don't value what they're doing, (and it obviously works), but I don't think I could ever be comfortable with that kind of environment. I'd be so afraid of one of the dogs getting pissed off...and then what would you do????
I did really like what he says about shelter and puppymill dogs and what it requires to rehabilitate them.
When we went to pick Bonnie our Pointer female up, we were gobsmacked that she had 14 pointers all in the house at once, mostly because pointers live to a ripe old age, and because they were always really pained to let the youngsters go, (by her own admission she had WAY too many!) but there was no aggression or posturing, now a house full of full on guardian breeds or herding breeds of various ages would have had me worried!
I still haven't got round to reading the article cos I'm still at the grindstone but will have a look later
Ben, thanks for sharing this website! I have so much respect for this person(s) who give so much of their life rescuing and rehabilitating
these dogs who are abandoned or what have you, to be in their situation.
I will be sharing this with several people I know.
So many dogs in need of good homes....
