Anyone have a great idea for a fan and installation configuration for the rear of a pick-up with a cap? I figure this summer will be hot, maybe hotter than normal, and I need to figure out some way to circulate air better if I am to tote the dogs all over the place. What about side window fans? Any thoughts will be welcome. But money cost and convenience is a consideration.

I think the side fans would work do you have slider side windows already?
I was thinking small AC unit run by a small generator mounted under the truck, might be to pricey.
You can install a 'boot' that basically is an air/water proof barrier that goes between the cabin window & the front end of the cap that allows the air hot/heat or cool/AC air the circulate between the turck cab & the cap interior. You can use small crate fans attached to the inside walls of the cap to aid in additional air circulation.
Another is an small additional a/c untit that is run off a marine battery or other battery to cool the cap area. Or a unit similar to ones used in campers.
We used to have 2 extra batteries hooked up to our truck engine to support out slide in camper unit in the bed of the truck. It ran the lights, frig, heater & AC unit in the camper.
I don't remember what the unit was. My husband had gotten it & installed it. It sat on the roof. It was smaller then the ones that you usually see on RVs. But then this was an 11 foot slide in unit that sat in the back of our 8ft pickup truck bed.
Could not have been that expensive, since we didn't have tons of money at the time. But that was also many years ago. Don't know what's out there now.
