one thing you can say for mixed breeds, mutts, the heinz 57 varieties, they have the most interesting looks! My three are very cute, scraggily and with long legs and floppy ears. Just got to love them! I do feel sorry for the pups that have to live where they scrounge thru trash cans, or eat rotten food, but I guess most dogs enjoy it! My dogs love crunchy old dead lizards! Ha!

I love my mutts. They come from two different cities and have very different body types and weights, but yet, their markings are almost identical.
I think rescues and shelters are attempting to give people an idea of what to expect size/weight wise, but sometimes I think it would be better to just say, "mix" and give a generic small/med/large estimation.
There was a lady that wanted to adopt Bru before I'd made a decision, and they turned her down because her lease stipulated dogs under 50 lbs. They thought he was a boxer mix pup. He's pretty much full grown at 22 lbs! One lady even thought he may be mixed with Dane!
I don't really care what they are, but I have thought it would be really interesting if you could track where they came from. Bru was one of (5 or 7?) puppies found in an abandoned house...no momma and the pups didn't appear to all be from the same litter. I'd love to know how that happened!!!
