I am not sure if any of you have seen this as I just happened across it, but Nordic Naturals just came out with a new liquid fish oil that is the same as their omega 3 capsules for dogs that is not cod liver oil. It is made from wild anchovies and sardines, but it does not have any lemon flavoring nor rosemary that their human version contains. I couldn't find it yet on Nordic Naturals site through just browsing, I had to google it to find it on their site. The only difference between the small - medium, med - large, and large - XL is the serving size and size of the bottle.
I just purchased my bottle through amazon. I tried it myself and it is practically flavorless, just what you want out of fish oil. It is much nicer to have a version without the flavorings for the dogs and not in a capsule form as that gets expensive.
Here is the NN link:
http://nordicnaturals.com/pet/nnpet_prodO3_16oz.html
And, here is the link to it on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004HY200I/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=amazon26k-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B004HY200I
I personally use Nordic Naturals fish oil as it is the only fish oil I have found to not give me heart burn. Usually fish oil causes heartburn when it is rancid, which also makes fish oil taste like fish.
As an aside, I know that the fish oil LB sells also does not contain flavorings. I cannot attest to taste though. http://leerburg.com/47.htm

I'm with Keith on all of this!
My dogs adore the one Leerburg sells, which tastes horrible to humans (IMO), so they often get a split of Nordic and the Grizzly.

Joyce, good to be back. It has been a long time, and much has changed. I haven't been able to bring myself to post this yet, but the dog I learned so much from has moved on to the rainbow bridge.
Teddee's anal gland issues were more than just anal gland issues. He was the biggest butthead of a dog, but so loveable...most of the time. We worked with him on numerous issues over his lifetime, and he taught me so much about myself and dogs. That dog had the biggest personality and we miss him so much. Our other two are slowly learning how to live without him. They were confused at first, but they have figured it out. It is tough because Ted was always the dog rolling on his back when he played and the other two would play with him like that, so they are still trying to figure out how to play with each other.
I will probably post a tribute to him on the boards, eventually.
Well, some good news, I am getting married in one month. Our dogs get to come to the wedding, which we are very excited about.

Oh, Keith, I'm shocked and so sad about Ted.
I know many people will want to read about him and maybe see his picture when you can do it.
And congratulations on the pending nuptials!
XOXO

Glad to see you back again, Keith. Funny your name popped into my head a couple of weeks ago when the Diamond recalls started. I remember that you have started the thread, about 2 years ago, about Natura being sold out to P & G & the subsequent discussion about diamond dog food products. :-)
Sorry to hear about Teddie. RIP TED.
Congrats on the upcoming nutputals.
Drop in more often to say HI.

Thank you all for the condolences, he sure is missed.
I hate seeing the recalls. It makes me furious. I don't know if any of you have seen the latest newsletter from the truthaboutpetfood.com
http://truthaboutpetfood.com/articles/unbelievable-fda.html
About two weeks after I got Ted, he was on the verge of death and at the Emergency Vet and his regular vet. It was then that I learned that illnesses similar to his were being contributed to the chicken jerky. That was the result that my vets and I came to the assumption to after he was cleared of any other illness. I can't believe that this is still going on. It did trigger me to become aware of what my dogs eat and where it is produced and where the ingredients are sourced.
Now that we only have two, I have been looking in to raw. I will probably need some help with that in the coming months.
I will definitely start popping in again on the boards. Everything has been crazy around here, hopefully things will slow down after the wedding.

You won't have to spend all that time 'policing' your dogs' food when you make the switch to raw.
It's easlier to feed raw then most people think. And usually less expensive then costly high end kibbles if you find the right sources.
Keep in mind, when you make the change, to look into a restraunt wholesale supplier for the best prices on cases of RMBs & rolls of ground meats.

Keith, I just now saw this! I am so very sorry about Ted! My heart breaks for all you have been through. I completely understand not being able to talk about it, as the sadness and pain are just so raw sometimes.
Our dogs are so much the center of our world, when they leave us, it can be devastating. My deepest condolences on your loss.
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!! That is very exciting news!
I am so happy for you.
I have always appreciated your diligent posts, and you have been missed here at LB very much!
Please know you are in our thoughts, and when you are ready, we would all love to read your tribute to your beloved Ted.
Best wishes on your wedding day!

I could not have said it nearly so well. Totally agree.
