I won't take the two dogs out together for now. I can definitely say that Jethro's reactive incidents go up 10x when I have Skipper with me, probably because I am distracted.
I'm going to jump in and say - I do not take any of my other dogs out when I take Enzo out. Even though my other dogs are dog friendly, I do not want them to greet other dogs where Enzo then feels the need to 'protect' them. If something should get out of hand - I won't be able to help my other dogs because all my efforts will be needed to handle Enzo who will do serious damage to any dog that gets near him or if he feels the need to protect his pack. I was told early on from a good trainer friend who said to me, 'at some point you will have to realize this is who he is and manage it.' So that is basically what I do. When I read David's stories about Fama - esp. the part where she was 'luring the woman with her sweet smile' and then snapped - totally Enzo. Everything about Fama is Enzo, with the exception of handler aggression (well at least to me), he will still challenge new trainers/handlers. I'm not saying Jethro is this way, but you always have to be aware of his language and your surroundings, but it sounds like it's really clicking now .
I hope you can understand how gratifying it is to hear my dog fell within some range of what normal dogs do. At least, in this instance, he did not use his teeth, nor did he deliver a death strike. Maybe, under all the bluster and lather he is just a big wuss.
That is usually the case
