I am not sure if I post this in the right area. I am not a K9 handler, neither do we train for S&R or competition. I decided to post this under 'police tracking' because that's what we are trying to mimic. It's based on the methods they do at the RCMP.
I am trying to learn to read Noa's body language during tracking. So far I have figured the following signals mean she is off track: Slowing down, loosing line tension, stopping, looking back or around and head up. It usually starts off with a combination of signals that leads to stopping and looking back. I have video's of us tracking which I analyzed on this website: A dogs Agenda | Tracking Body Language
I also discovered she was showing negatives when she is insecure (happened once.) It's on the third video Track c at 1:00. How do you tell the difference and how would you handle this? I am just a beginner so if you have any advice or insights I'd love to hear it!
