The ad I placed in craigslist read Found little black dog between the two small towns where we live. If you think he is yours and can identify him, email his identifying characteristics. It is definitely not the place I would be looking for him a home.
I volunteer for rottie rescue so I knew when I brought him in off the road he would be our responsibility. But there was no choice. It wasn't like an owner wanted to surrender him and I could check with rescue first. He would have died in the 104 degrees with no water, and exhausted. Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do.
I appreciate all the helpful replies. We will have him a home soon I am sure, and by that time, any holding period would have expired. I would like to see someone try to tell me that I should not have rehomed a dog after a couple weeks who was out with a collar with no tag and no chip. Really? Do you care about your dog? By the time we have him a home worked out, he will have been with us at least 2 weeks. We are over a week now. J
Connie, I read that about free dogs. My goodness, things you would never imagine peope get dogs for. yes, definitely charging something if his home in Oregon doesn't work out, or the other rescue groups. J
