LC: You can do it now if you're careful about the level of the stim. It's essential that you're at the level where the dog first feels it so that his head is clear. I've done OB with an Ecollar with a dog as young as four months. I think that's too young but the owner was insistent.
Lou Castle has been kicked off this board. He is an OLD SCHOOL DOG TRAINER with little to offer.
The fact that the ecollar is used as one training tool in the whole training spectrum for a puppy does not bother me. It's the way in which it is used that could be damaging. My training is not ecollar based but can involve ecollar work. Lots of positive reinforcement with some line work can get some very fast results.
Lois,
Leash your dog. End of story, at least until the safty hazards are removed.
The property owner needs to hang clothes drying lines at a height of 48" across the paths where the trespasser's normally drive. The purpose of this will allow the property owner to hang clothes to dry at anytime he sees fit, but if he uses a strong enough rope or cable, there can be additional positive side effects from this effort. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
