Great news! Xrays show only broken metacarpals (the bones from the wrist down),not the wrist, and not even any toes. He doesn't need a cast.
We Xrayed his elbows since he was sleeping, they looked great, no arthritis at all, and he's >3 so that's good.
We are super happy and feel blessed and lucky.
Last nite he began "eating" his foot as in removing all the hair. So it has been re-bandaged. So, its not perfect. I remain grateful for no serious orthopedic damage.
Hoping to avoid the dreaded cone.

Aw, the poor guy.
Thank goodness the classic cones are not the only choice now, with soft ones and also donuts. A little guy like Pinker might be the right size for the donut.
I had a dog really traumatized by the classic one .... hyperventilating, in a serious panic. It was before the alternatives (or before I knew of them); she ended up in a strangely-fitted child's t-shirt.
