My Male 9 month old GSD does not like to be groomed. I had to get A wire muzzle to groom around his head and chest. I brush him real easy but he just does not like it. He will pull his lip up and bite at you. Thats why I have the muzzle. Finally my question is should I stimulate him and say stop it when I notice he has his lip pulled up wanting to bite me?? Or do you have any other suggestions that will help with him not wanting to bite me when I try to do things to him?
Thanks for reading this.

I had a dog like this in the past and I would get my treat bag. As I would groom him I would give him little pieces of food and that helped a lot.........you should be able to put little pieces of food that he likes through the wire muzzle.
You want to be careful when you use the E-collar.
You want the grooming to be a pleasant experience for your dog. I would just hold the treat in one hand and as my dog was taking the treat I would groom with the other.
There's a rule in dog training that says that you can't punish fear. You can punish behavior of course. But if you press the button for the lip curl you're liable to stop the behavior but not treat the root of the problem.
What you get then is a dog that doesn't give the lip curl warning. He goes from zero to murder. I'd not use the Ecollar for this problem.
