.... I am in the Army and have been a dog handler close to 7 years.. sadly when I moved up to Ft. Lewis in Washington I got stuck doing a desk job... I am hoping to get back in the kennels by March. I am actually in MO right now and thats what made me think of the website, I was hoping I was close enough to make a trip and visit the store/kennels but, 11 hours is a bit much sadly when your borrowing a car.
Anyhow, like I said, sadly now I am working a desk job, and renting a house that does not allow dogs, so I am feeling a bit out of the loop. One thing that worries me about that is when ever I get out I want to get back in to the K9 field and don't like the idea of having such a big gap in training. I am planning on either doing some volunteer work at a local shelter, or see about doing volunteer work with the police departments. So if there are any officers out there that want to give some advice on how to go about that I am all ears. I will probably start a thread about it in the Police K9 forum too.
