If I go to her and pick up the ball she will get up and prepare herself for another throw-I take the ball and go inside. Yesterday when she did it, I left her outside, and she just sat until I came and got her.
With the ball long gone, she still had to go get her . Thats not a retrieve problem.

Good catch. I completely missed that.
Jodi, going back to page 1, I see that Melissa and Duane were absolutely on the right track and I blew it with the retrieve backchaining ..... the focus was on (and should have stayed on) the
recall.
I'm sorry. Let's go back to that. I will go stand in the corner.

Connie, No worries-Any and all the advice is greatly appreciated.
I read through everyone's suggestions and took Ambi out yesterday, tried to keep it fun, changed what we were doing alot so went from tossing the ball to working on stay, down, etc, she came every single time with a big smile on her face, and tail a-wagging. she had one little blip where she thought about balking and I realized I had moved near the house door, she watched me, I moved away, and when I called she came. We'll continue working on this and , I have realized I don't verbally praise her as much as I could so I made a big point of praising, pats, and treats for each recall.
My animals are not "like" family, they ARE family.
