He’s wearing it 8 hours a day while at work. Will ultrasound jelly do the trick or should I give in and shave a small portion of his neck? http://www.NAPWDA.com

A few times I've used thinning shears, which you can get from a groooming supply, and thin the hair on his neck. Shaving is too unsightly and unnecessary besides. Lou Castle has been kicked off this board. He is an OLD SCHOOL DOG TRAINER with little to offer.

They make all the way to a 2" contact, which is REALLY long - I do have that length, as Ceili's winter coat is absurdly thick. Altmoor had a very knowledgeable person on staff, and he helped me decide which lengths to order, so I'd be ready for all seasons.
