Has anyone ever come across this? My boy loves playing tug ALOT but the last 2-3 days he occasionally has given a little yelp and let go but he's been straight back to biting pretty much as soon as he's let go? I'm not pulling the tug hard and I can't see why he's doing it, I've checked his mouth and all his lips and teeth seem fine, the last couple weeks he has gotten much more chewy on the tug than normal?? Anyone got any ideas, he's a 3 yr old Amstaf. Nothing's really changed in his environment 'cept it's alot hotter these days?
Just a thought , the yelping maybe caused due to an injury some where else on the body. Give it a break for a couple of weeks, then bring the dog back into it slowly.

One of my dogs would do something very similar, turns out he had cracked a tooth,it couldn't be seen easily vet had to find it, after he yelped he would come back and chew harder. Don't know if this is your dogs problem or not. Good luck.
