I'm curious about "hands-free" leashes- the type marketed for runners. Looks like LB sells "The buddy system", has anyone used it? I'm a little concerned about what would happen if 90 lb GSD suddenly goes after a cat; will the leash/belt hardware handle that jolt? It only happens once in a blue moon, but occasionally we do pass the hidden cat and it becomes too much of a temptation for Jake...
Not sure if it matters, but we're still using the prongs on both of my dogs.
When I job or bike, I just slip the 6' leash through my bottle belt. I still use a prong collar and this way I have about 3' of leash time to react and no jolting.
Both my dogs are good but once in a while Dexter will pull a silly cat stunt.
I use a sturdy leash hooked onto my leather belt. The key is to not get so comfortable that you forget that you still need to be in control of the leash If an incident catches you off guard, you could get drug down the road.
