First a quick re-intro: I've been a member of this board for several years but have not been on in a few. For many reasons, namely a move out of the country, we've been out of the K9 world loop for a while. We have ample experience with GSD's and Mal's, but as I said...it's been a while and now we would really like a good family GSD for the house.
We have 4 children, 16, 7, 3, and 1. We currently live in Costa Rica but are soon to move to Ecuador long term. We will be living in a place that is fairly safe, for a third world country, but does have a high petty crime rate. We really want a good, solid, trustworthy GSD that can live and travel with our family without worry, but who will pose a visual threat. At the same time we want to know that our dog will in fact do her/his job if necessary.
Again, if any of you a have or know of a good fit at a reasonable cost, please PM me.

An additional note: I'm not in a rush. If any of you have an upcoming litter, a younger dog that isn't working out, or retiring older dog coming up that would fit the bill we'd be interested.
