In the recall and the retrieve in a trial, what is a better: have the dog race back to you and look straight up at you, practically touching your belly; or is it better that the dog stop about 6 inches to a foot away? i ask this because I've seen both styles, and in my opinion the first method LOOKS better, but seems riskier because if the dog touches you, or his paws go between your legs, you will lose points right?
did anyone notice that flinks trains it that way on the tape? the dog's paws go between his legs....
You can lose points if the dog touches you, or if the dog sits to far in front of the handler, it will also loose points. SO it is the luck of the draw, and really depends on the type of drive and temperment of dog that you ae training.
