The stray I picked up has been neutered and had some weight put on him. We named him Lance and now he needs a home. He's an anxious/nervous dog. He needs a leader who's willing to work with him.
He's about a year old and an absolute sweetheart. When I go over to my brothers to see him he greets me by talking like a Boxer would. He's very comfortable staying in a crate and appears to be house trained.
I'm pretty sure he's a beagle/boxer mix but he might have other stuff in there too. He's probably less than 30 lbs.
Tomorrow he's going to be at the Pet Club store at 3165 S Alma School Rd Chandler, AZ. A local rescue is allowing us to bring him to an adoption event of theirs.

He got a home! Doing the happy dance big time since he couldn't stay with my brother any longer.
The family is going to pick him up tomorrow. I like them. They haven't had a dog before but have done lots of research and are willing to work with him. They also passed the common sense test. Some lady was telling them that they needed to mess with him while he was eating to make sure he wouldn't get food aggressive. I pointed out that I never mess with my dog while eating and if I do it's to give them something better than what's in their bowl. She said that would make dogs food aggressive. Whatever you say lady. Raising pit bulls I guess makes you an expert. Not. She also encouraged them to have their children mess with him while eating. That idiot's going to get a child bit and a dog put down someday. When I asked the family about it later they immediately said they thought that advice was stupid. They have already picked out a positive reinforcement trainer in their area that runs a child education class. They are also picking up a crate for him tonight.
They were initially looking for a lab puppy but after visiting several shelters discovered that lab puppies can be hyper and were too big and too much for their young son. He wanted a dog to walk with and snuggle with. Lance is very good at both of those things. I like that they were so willing to honestly examine what's going to work with their family.
Lance did great. He's really made a lot of progress and was not anywhere near as nervous as I thought he'd be. He was happily approaching people after learning that he would get petted and being completely neutral with other dogs. He likes kids. Even them running up to him or doing the "nice doggy" pats on his nose didn't bother him.
