Have been reading everything I can find about vaccinations. I have a new Bouvier I imported him from the Netherlands. He is currently 12 weeks old. His passport shows that he has received his parvo, and distemper at 6 weeks and 8 weeks. Lepto at 8 weeks. His mom got mastitis at 3 1/2 weeks so he went off her milk about then. It is "time" for his 12 week boosters. I am inclined to pass on these. I did so with my last Bouvier and had no issues.
I am trying to be extra aware with this guy as he is out of great KNVP lines and I have high hopes for him. I can do what I have always done and hope for the best results or ask the forum for advice and possibly learn something new to go on.
Connie, thanks for the reply and yes I am. My last Bouvier only had the 1st 2 puppy vaccinations until he was about 5 when we were traveling and had to board him. I have lost a puppy to parvo, a long time ago. I now know in retrospect he may have died from his parvo vaccination. It would just kill me if my dog contracted something because I did not vaccinate. It could not be any more painful than losing my male Bouvier at 8 years old from very aggressive cancer that may or may not have been related to vaccinations and diet.
So... just trying to get a feel for what people are doing, thinking.

I'm not knee-jerk about core vaccinations. Not at all.
I do think, though, that we have gone vax-crazy. Like over-use and mis-use of antibiotics (and what a mess that has created), I believe that we have taken a life-saving thing and run amok with it.
