"IF" the dog is adjusted to it before hand is there a particular variety to feed without meat while boarded and I'm on vacation for 7-10 days? Meds will be given with the meals also.
I think your Ohhhh answered my question. I was looking to avoid the canned I was using simply because of cost. I have completely eliminated it as of a couple of weeks ago.
If one of them has meat in it that would be great.

They all have meat except Preference, which was formulated to be a base for an allergic (or otherwise food-intolerant) dog who needs a certain protein added.
They are all balanced and complete, but most owners of active or growing dogs like to add in RMBs -- or even use the THK as a "side" for a balanced raw diet (or cooked, for that matter .... I never thought of that until just now). THK, unlike kibble, is fine with raw, even fine with kibble.
You can definitely use it as a stand-alone while you travel, or perhaps you want to add in some cooked meat if you don't want to ask the kennel folks to add raw.
Is Honest Kitchen cheaper than canned dog food? Maybe not. Its pretty expensive. I've been using it for years for my two GSD and when I have to travel I bring the little home-kennel where they stay the Honest Kitchen, and packages of chicken drumsticks, which I often use at home for them as well. All of the Honest Kitchen foods have meat in them, except the one all veg one, Preference.
Thanks for all the info everyone.
My biggest problem is one of my GSDs has EPI and needs daily supplements that have to set for 20 or so mins after the food is mixed. This is 2-3 times a day.
I don't want to dump that on a friend who usually watches them at her place when I go away. I know there is a kennel in this area that would follow instructions. All I need to do is sell one or two of the grandkids. LOL!
