Ahhhh it's been awhile since I've been here. I've been ridiculously busy in the past month...not much time for anything except studying for tests, training Zak and training to be a horse camp counselor!
Zak and I hit our first 4-H Fun Match this past weekend and I am, for the most part, pleased with how it turned out. In the obedience ring Zak was pretty much a disaster though. He has such a nose that he wanted nothing to do with me...he just wanted to sniff those smelly mats we had to walk on. That performance landed us a score of 190 out of 230 and 5th place.
For Showmanship, we did a heck of a lot better. We had a few problems stacking, but gaiting was perfect and very smooth. Also, I correctly answered 8 out of the 10 dog questions I was asked. (Which bumped up my score)We ended up with a score of 206 and 3rd place. Not bad for our first show. I see it all going uphill from here.
I don't have any pictures for you at the moment (They're all still on my camera) but I'll put some up soon.

Congratulations on a job well done, Anna! Zak is a young dog and you two are just getting started as a team. Sounds like you did pretty good for your first time out, and now you know what particular things need more work.
Good luck on all your other projects, too. Sounds like you've got your plate pretty full!
