hmm i have different problems with diferent dogs, my problem here is that sookie did not go all the way back for the ball or if she did she rarely droped the thing near me for throw it again, i do not want to train a formal retrieve with the ball, that only for excersise.
Im in other sessions training her the dumbell retrieve but for that i have a lot of other training steps (were currently on grip and hold).
With my pitbull the problem is tht she went in crocodile mode while tugging and she somethimes not re engage i i let her win the toy, pealse do not confuse the two dogs.
and just to be clear on this:
Sookie GSD mix that had the problems fetching (solved)
Havanna Pitbull that im working with her tugging-crocodile-not re enganging problem
Thanks all for the responses and sorry if im not very clear, im not form United States.
Bob addresses lots of this on your other thread.
Teaching the out (and this is positive reward-based training that Bob and others are talking about) is needed because the dog doesn't happily return a retrieve item to your hand every single time. It doesn't matter if it's a game of fetch with the ball ....
"Sookie GSD mix that had the problems fetching (solved)" Two out of five isn't "solved," though.
