Hi everyone,

I have been a member on Leerburg forums since '07, when my German Shepherd arrived at 8 weeks old. I stopped frequenting when it moved to the new format in '11 but not because of the change. After a long absence, I think it is a good time to come out of the woods & re-introduce myself.

I found Leerburg when I was still in college, and fell in love with the dogs after stumbling across a photo of a PINK PAIL of PUPS! I wrote to Ed immediately & told him that when the time was right, I would love to purchase an Alsatian from him. He wrote back and his 1st question (after graciously thanking me for my email) was where I was from.

I was born in Singapore, and attended university in NY when I was 18. I have been here for over a decade, and currently reside in S. California.

I never did get my Leerburg pup - 1) I was not ready for a working line, 2) Leerburg wasn't breeding GSDs - but I do have a delightful 5 y/o WGSL x DDR female, Janka, whose breeder has similar philosophies to Frawley on diet & vax protocol. Janka wasn't an easy pup, sending all my romantic ideas about puppyhood out the window & leaving me with a Tasmanian Devil whose OFF button seemed to be broken. I credit Leerburg DVDs (esp 'Establishing Pack Structure', which I ordered when Janka was 13 weeks old; I purchased '8 weeks to 8 months' prior to her arrival which was invaluable but advice from Pack Structure was the game changer) as the best investments for myself as a dog owner.

I also have two rescue cats and two parrots. My precocious Yellow-naped Amazon loves to holler, "JANKA PIE! Patz!" wherein my GSD will platz by her cage and shamelessly wait for a piece of food to be tossed her way.

The rest of my free time (and pay check) is devoted to dressage and horses.

I want to thank Ed and his team, as well as the moderators, for their knowledge, help, support and patience when I felt lost, and no other answer was satisfactory for me and Janka. This is a wonderful place to learn, exchange information, meet wonderful people, as well as give back to the community.
