Hi everyone, I haven't posted in awhile and just wanted to thank everyone for Ambers bday wishes, she had a good 3rd birthday. Happy news we FINALLY have her allergies under control, she is doing well on salmon, a vitamin e, and one antihistamine a day, Connie, I didn't do fish oil because her wet food has really high omegas. No itching, scratching, or hotspots, yay.
And... I resorted to a pinch collar for her, what a difference. I can't believe the time I wasted with harnesses and haltis and such, they served their purpose but the pinch is what she respects.
I hope everyone has had a wonderful summer, and all two legged and four legged family and friends are healthy and happy.
My animals are not "like" family, they ARE family.
I'm glad to hear that you've given a prong collar a try! My personal opinion is that they are a lot more kind when used correctly than a head collar, and I've heard of dogs needing chiropractic/specialist care after 'easy walk' body harnesses and such have pushed the dog's shoulders and frame in awkward positions to the point of causing physical damage (although it was repairable after a hefty vet bill).
Me too Connie, her vet says she's one of their most sensitive patients, she's also doing better weight wise, she seems to enjoy eating and knows this stuff isn't going to cause the itchies.
