Jodi Moen Webboard User Reg: 12-28-2010 Posts: 799 Loc: USA Offline	Amber is getting occasional little scrapes from her prong collar, this is still occurring even after adding a link. I was considering using caps but will these negate the effect of the prong, or should I consider a larger diameter? My animals are not "like" family, they ARE family.

You might try filing them down a bit with a metal file to dull them a bit. I have not needed to do this..but have known a few people that have done this. Have never used any prong caps...didn't even know they existed. Kind of negates a good bit of the effectiveness of the prong collar, I would think. MY DOGS...MY RULES

Dumb question: if I file them do I do it straight across the point, or around it? I'm afraid if I file the wrong way I could make it worse, so they'd be more like hypodermic needles.
