Female cattle dog mix, weighs 15lbs right now and probably wont be more than medium sized. She was found in a rural area where she had been dumped and injured and then left to starve to death. Luckily she was found and this little girl is dynamite! She LOVES kids and is good with dogs and people. She has great food drive and some ball drive as well. She is extremely smart- rivals our border collie and shepherds- she would do great in an active or working home. She already knows a bunch of commands (we have started her in marker training) and she not only generalized better than any dog Ive ever met but she can learn a command and literally never confuse it with another command, its really amazing. PM for more info, she needs to find a home soon. a rehoming fee is not necessary since she will be going to the right home
here is a link to my photo bucket with some pictures of her: http://s248.photobucket.com/user/mjroach/slideshow/
Sounds like a dog with great potential.
Have you checked for a chip or a tattoo?
How is here hearing? I've see a lot of Aussies and Cattle dogs that were deaf in one or both ears. That can go along with predominantly white or all white colored dogs.
I fostered two deaf and blind cattle dog aussie mixes- a mix that is pretty common in our area.
I havent noticed any deafness or at least not enough to be a problem. there is a short video on photobucket of her doing a couple obedience commands when she was 12 weeks old using only voice commands (some of them you can even hear in the video) and she does fine.
She was only 5 or 6 weeks when we found her and she could no longer walk she was so dehydrated and emaciated. Her eyes had already sunken so far back in her head that they could hold the first or third eyelids open, she was missing big chunks of hair on her sides and tails from previous injuries so no- I dont think anyone cared- a dog that age doesnt just wander from its mother. No chip or tattoo.
