Just to counter the FDA is known to be very slow in responding to these sorts of complaints, and even then there general policy is to first work with the manufacturer to implement warning labels, rarely do they recall a drug. Vioxx was never recalled by the FDA, the manufacturer pulled it, nothing was done even after an earlier study showed a higher risk of cardiac problems and 84 million people worlwide had used it.
There was probably hundreds of millions of dollars put into developing Trifexis, scattered reports of dog deaths for a drug that's been on the market for a short period of time are not enough for the FDA or manufacturer to consider pulling it (imo), hundreds of deaths maybe. Just look at the dog treat from china crisis, people strongly believe a correlation, but those products are still readily available.
I guess my point of this is just making people aware. I don't use trifexis, wouldn't use it even before I heard of the issues, jmho.
My animals are not "like" family, they ARE family.
